When it comes to the world of Social Media, Twitter has most definitely earned it’s right as a brand that needs no introduction!! There are few people that would ask the question “What is Twitter”. We all have those moments in life that make us take a sudden step back and ask the question “where did the time go?” and this, I expect, will be one of those moments for many of us today!
Within an environment so focused on community and sharing it’s very fitting that Twitter has created a “highlights” video that takes us through a quick journey of the big moments and allows us to appreciate its maturity. This isn’t the only clever tactic from the team at Twitter, the hashtag #Twitter7 is already trending and bringing in tweets from across the world .. and rightly so!
Now is the time to acknowledge and thank the world of Twitter for the opportunities and doors it’s opened for both the individual and organisations. The persistent drive and development of Twitter has seen it rise from a ‘celebrity stalking’ platform to a place of power on which companies can connect with customers in real time and public can stay tuned to the latest news and goings on from just the click of a button, wherever and whenever!
Twitter has grown from Jack Dorsey’s single tweet in 2006 to more than 200 million current users worldwide, with an average of more than 400 million tweets sent per day.
So, all that’s left to do now is to watch the video, tweet a happy birthday and enjoy thinking about where it will be in another 7 years time? 2020!!
…we came across the word ‘twitter’, and it was just perfect. The definition was ‘a short burst of inconsequential information,’ and ‘chirps from birds’. And that’s exactly what the product was – Jack DorseyWikipedia
