Marketing Week Live 2013 – A Quick Summary

As many of you will already know, especially if you’ve been following us on Twitter, D&W have spent the last two days exhibiting at the Marketing Week Live, within the very majestic walls of the Olympia Grand building, London.

I think it’s safe to say the show this year has been a major success and it really has been a pleasure to be involved and meet so many wonderful people. We’ve had some interesting & impressionable discussions both on and off the stand, and it has been so encouraging to share our love of digital & data with so many of you. We hope we’ve managed to impart a little bit of knowledge and are able to help each one of you progress and develop your online tactics and future success. We also look forward to the building and establishing some long-term relationships.

It’s no secret that we live in a world that is virtually connected, it’s down to this very reason that the conference is even in existence. The majority of us will speak to people online everyday through a number of different social channels, sharing the details of our lives and businesses with people we sometimes will never actually even get to meet face-to-face, but that is now acceptable and a common way of life. But, when the opportunity of events such as MW Live present themselves we love to embrace the moment and prove we are everything in the flesh we claim to be on the website, the directories and the social networks etc. It has been a pleasure to be so involved in an event that has enabled us to get face-to-face with thousands of real people and allowed us to enjoy some great networking moments.

Hundreds packed round the Mobile & Social and Search & Affiliate stages as George Ioannou gave two fantastic presentations and we hope you all enjoyed them as much as we did.

The Digital & Wise brand for us, as employees, is based around integrity, knowledge, teamwork, experience, trust and drive and we’ve thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to display and share these exemplary characteristics with others this week and really show what we are all about. But there is also a lot of work that goes into these shows from behind the scenes and the preparations begin as much as 12 months prior to the live event dates. It’s not just the faces that are present on the stand that are involved and we are very fortunate to have a fantastic team of ‘behind the scenes’ employees that help make the day what it is… thank you!

Many of us who attended, visitors and exhibitors, share at least one thing in common and this is our love/appreciation for digital and the wonderful things the industry enables us to do. It was lovely to see the hashtag #lovedigital spread around the event that provided a very apt way to celebrate the topic. We hear that at times, #MWLive2013 even trended over Wimbledon and Glastonbury .. Now that’s impressive!

On the journey back home to Manchester there was plenty of time to reflect on the big trends and the buzz words that had been flying around the show and over the next few weeks we’ll be bringing you more insight on these. Today, I’ve missed being serenaded by the wonderful live music, tried to resist the temptation to eat junk after 2 days of continuous sweet indulgence and feel in desperate need of a full 8 hours sleep and foot pedicure…I’m sure I’m not alone there.
